Garden Focused is a nifty website where you put in the crops you want to grow and where you live, and will calculate what you should be doing when, taking into account the latest predicted frost for your area!
After adding York I chose Potatoes, Garlic, Onion, Beetroot and Sweetcorn and it came up with the above which I like the look and also means I don’t have to do any work until March 🙂
Found this guideline of what to plant where. The only problem is I’m not really sure what was already grown in the beds, except one which definitely had potato’s in it.
It also suggests adding a liberal amount of manure and fertiliser before sowing, which I didn’t bother with when putting in the beans (although the soil looked and felt fine and Les seemed to think it was worth a try?)
I might get a cheap ph tester kit from somewhere..
